Tiger Woods is known for its calm personality in public. It isn’t widespread for him to lose his cool and react to hate comments on social media. However, a throwback to 2013, when a comment from Sergio Garcia led to Woods expressing his discomfort.

Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia’s beef has been a hot topic of discussion over the years. The two have publicly criticized each on several occasions.

Garcia’s remark towards Woods before the 2013 US Open was termed a “Racist” and “Silly Remark” by the fans. However, Garcia has denied that the comments had no intention to sound discriminating.

What was Sergio Garcia’s comment on Tiger Woods?
Sergio Garcia attended the European Gala event back in 2013. It was during this event that Garcia’s remark caused headlines. The Spaniard was asked at the dinner table if he would have a dinner night with Tiger Woods.

Sergio Garcia replied, “We will have him round every night. We will serve fried chicken.” The comment was quickly criticized by fans. Moreover, Woods too shared his thoughts by tweeting, “The comment that was made wasn’t silly. It was wrong, hurtful, and clearly inappropriate.”

The 46-year-old then tweeted, “I’m confident that there is real regret that the remark was made.” And Woods was right. Garcia accepted his mistake and apologized to the American a few days later, during a press conference.

Garcia said, “My answer was totally stupid and out of place…I feel sick about it.” Regardless of what Garcia intended by his remarks, this will probably represent another turning point in the evergreen dispute between the two golfers

Woods and Garcia’s never-ending feud
Both golfers entered the professional circuit during the same period. Their history of conflict includes charges of cheating, gaminess, and even racism. According to reports, the conflict started in 1999. Garcia was 19 years old at the time while a 24-year-old Woods had just won his second Major.

The two had a series of indirect conflicts on the golf course whether it was the PGA Championship, BMW Invitational series, US Open, or most commonly Ryder Cup. Moreover, both golfers never considered squashing their beef.

It is quite evident that both stars had a cold war from the very beginning since both of them are prodigious talents. With both stars at the end of their careers, and Garcia joining the LIV Golf, do you believe it’s time to end the feud?
