‘This Is for You, Coach!’ Emma Raducanu Pulls Out the One Thing She Will Always Have In Her Handbag

Emma Raducanu rose to fame after her 2021 US Open win. After beating Canada’s Leylah Fernandez in the final, the British player became an overnight star, with the biggest brands contacting her for endorsements.

Emma already has some of the top brands in her endorsement portfolio. Recently, Raducanu featured in a video for luxury brand Christian Dior. In the video, the 19-year-old was showing what’s in her handbag.

Emma took out a range of different articles and essentials from her Christian Dior bag. She started by taking out a black disposable film camera, which she carries wherever she travels. Justifying the film camera, Emma said that not being able to see the photos at that time helps her to be present in the moment.

She next took out a tennis ball. Explaining that, Emma said that she practices her ball toss wherever she goes. Showing the ball, she said, “This is for you, coach!”

The US Open champion next pulled out one of the first tournament medals she won. Calling it special, she added a witty touch to it, saying, “I think the big one from the US Open wouldn’t fit in here.”

The 19-year-old also carries her two passports in her bag. One of Canada, as she was born there, and the other one of Britain as she is a British national.

Emma Raducanu on the tour
Raducanu created history by becoming the first qualifier ever to win a Grand Slam title. Winning 10 matches (3 qualifying rounds), Raducanu went on to become the 2021 US Open champion. However, soon after the US Open, she saw a series of early exits from tournaments.

Hoping to start off her 2022 season on a high note, Raducanu entered the WTA 500 Sydney Tennis Classic. However, she experienced a first-round exit in the tournament. In the Australian Open 2022, the Brit experienced another 2nd round exit in the opening Grand Slam of the year. Hopefully, she can turn her form around soon.
